“Separate but equal” okay for racial discrimination
In this case the Supreme Court ruled that it was constitutional (legal) to separate people in public based on the color of their skin as along as they had equal facilities (schools, restrooms, etc.). This caused massive discrimination and was used to promote racism throughout the United States.
